Amazon only receives information that panelists explicitly choose to share via the Shopper Panel, such as the information extracted from uploaded receipts (including product or retailer names), survey responses, or ads seen from Amazon’s own advertising or third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads. Amazon deletes any sensitive information from receipts shared, such as prescription information from drug store receipts. For more information about how Amazon processes receipts, go here. Amazon also receives information about your use of the app, such as usage logs, your device type, operating system version, and network connectivity. We will always handle your information in accordance with Amazon's Privacy Notice.
We will use any information you share with us through the program to help brands offer better products and make Amazon ads more relevant and otherwise in accordance with Amazon's Privacy Notice. These purposes may include:
The Amazon Shopper Panel is designed to get faster and more accurate at reviewing receipts over time. The program relies in part on supervised machine learning, an industry-standard practice where humans review a small sample of submissions to help train our systems to correctly review receipt contents and eligibility. For example, a human reviewing a receipt can surface that the Amazon Shopper Panel misinterpreted a receipt for orange juice as a receipt for oranges. During our supervised learning process, Amazon reviewers only have access to the contents of receipts and do not have access to any other customer information. We will not share any personal information collected via the Amazon Shopper Panel with third parties.
Extracted receipt data, survey responses, and receipt images are retained for up to 13 months. You can view your receipt images for at least 12 months. We keep other information, such as your rewards history, to enable your continued use of the Amazon Shopper Panel for as long as you are using the app.
