The Amazon Shopper Panel is an opt-in, invitation-only program where participants can earn monthly rewards by sharing receipts from purchases made outside of Amazon or completing short surveys about your opinion on brands or products that may be of interest to you.
Earning rewards is easy. Simply upload eligible receipts by using the Amazon Shopper Panel app to take pictures of paper receipts or by forwarding email receipts to receipts@panel.amazon.com and you’ll earn up to $10 per month towards either an Amazon Balance or a charitable donation. You’ll earn rewards each month for every survey you complete and if you turn on ad verification on your mobile device you'll receive more, relevant surveys each month based on the ads you see from Amazon. Ads from Amazon can include Amazon’s own advertising or third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads. Space is limited and you may only be eligible to participate in certain parts of the program. You can check if you are eligible by tapping on the Receipts or Surveys tabs, or by visiting Ad verification in the panel app's settings.

There are different ways to earn monthly rewards depending on your program availability, which you can redeem for either an Amazon Balance or a charitable donation:
You can choose from the following rewards for any month. You can only choose one type of reward per month.
The Amazon Shopper Panel issues rewards to panelists once per month. You'll receive your reward within the first 48 hours of the following month. For example, you will receive any rewards earned in January by February 2nd. You will also receive an email from Amazon confirming the details of any reward you earned for the prior month.
You will be asked to choose a reward when you first log in to the Amazon Shopper Panel. Amazon Balance is the default selection. You can change your reward up until 11:59 PM PST on the last day of the month. On the Rewards tab, tap Change Reward and then choose your reward type for the current month. Once the month ends, you can’t change the reward type for the previous month, but you are able to change it for current and future months. Your selection applies to rewards earned by uploading eligible receipts, completing surveys, and enabling ad verification. You can only choose one type of reward per month.
You can choose from the following charitable organizations: Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, ASPCA, charity: water, Doctors Without Borders, Feeding America, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Nature Conservancy, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and United Negro College Fund. For more information on these organizations, tap “Change reward” on the Rewards tab and tap Learn More next to each organization.
If you choose a charitable donation as your monthly reward type, Amazon donates 100% of your monthly reward amount to your selected organization. We do not stipulate how those organizations may use those donations.
If you disable ad verification for more than a cumulative 48 hours within a month, you will no longer qualify for that month's reward.
Space is limited for receipt sharing on the Receipts tab. Check the Receipt tab in the app to see if you are eligible. If we don't have a spot for you now, we'll notify you if one becomes available.

The Amazon Shopper Panel is still reviewing the receipt to determine if it is eligible. Typically, receipts are reviewed for eligibility within 6 hours.
If you believe a receipt was incorrectly marked as not eligible or with the wrong retailer type, you can request a review. To request a review, first go to the specific receipt from either the recent receipts list or your receipt history. The “Request review” option is within the menu in the top right corner of the receipt’s details. Typically, receipts are reviewed for eligibility within 6 hours. For more information on how your receipts are reviewed, go here.
The internet connection may have disconnected while uploading. Select "Tap to retry" to upload again.
Yes. To download a receipt, first go to the specific receipt from either the recent receipts list or your receipt history. The Download option is within the menu in the top right corner of the receipt’s details. You can view your receipts on the Amazon Shopper Panel app for at least 12 months. Receipt images are retained for up to 13 months. Uploaded receipt images are not stored on your device unless you choose to download them.
Yes. To delete a receipt, first go to the specific receipt from either the recent receipts list or your receipt history. The delete option is within the menu in the top right corner of the receipt’s details. When you select this option, Amazon will delete the receipt image as well as all information extracted from the receipt. If you delete a receipt from the current month or before you receive your reward for that month, that receipt will not count towards your monthly reward. If you delete a receipt from a prior month after you have received your reward, it will not impact your earned reward from that month.
You will receive short surveys about brands or products that may be of interest to you. For example, you might be asked how likely you are to purchase a product or what you think of an ad. You can choose not to complete surveys.
The number of surveys you receive per month will vary. The Amazon Shopper Panel app will display notifications within the app when new surveys become available. You may also receive a push notification on your phone if you have push notification enabled. You can find all available surveys by tapping the Surveys button on the home screen. Each survey will only be available through its expiration date, which you can find in the list of available surveys.
Reward amounts may vary per survey and you will be able to see the amount before responding.
The number of surveys you receive per month will vary based on which panel programs you participate in. Panelists invited to participate in ad verification on their mobile device may turn on ad verification to receive more, relevant surveys each month based on the ads they see from Amazon. Panelists who are not invited to ad verification on their mobile device may join a waitlist and will be notified via email when space becomes available.
By choosing to turn on ad verification, panelists allow us to confirm which ads from Amazon they saw. This can include Amazon’s own advertising or ads from third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads. Panelists invited to participate in ad verification on their mobile device may turn on ad verification to receive more, relevant surveys each month based on the ads they see from Amazon. Participating in ad verification does not increase the amount of ads from Amazon you see and you can turn it off at any time. The Amazon Shopper Panel app will collect and use information about where and when you see ads from Amazon, for example the app or website where you viewed the ad and the time of day you viewed it. This helps us make ads from Amazon more relevant. We always handle your information in accordance with Amazon’s Privacy Notice.
Ads from Amazon can include Amazon’s own advertising or third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon. Ads can include both products sold in Amazon's store, such as electronics or clothing, and products or services not sold in Amazon's store, such as ads for restaurants or hotels. You may encounter an ad from Amazon as you shop in Amazon's store, as you read an article on a third-party app or website, such as news, sports, or entertainment sites, or as you watch video content across Amazon sites and apps, such as Amazon Freevee.
Every web enabled device, including your phone, computer, and the servers that run websites, has a unique Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses enable information, including ads, to be sent between devices, websites, and apps across the internet. IP addresses are a string of numbers that would be difficult for humans to memorize for the websites that you visit. To make internet navigation easier, your devices use Domain Name Systems (DNS). A DNS maintains a directory of domain names (such as "amazon.com") and translates them to IP addresses so that you can just type the name of the website. If you choose to enable ad verification, the Amazon Shopper Panel app will guide you through updating your phone settings to use an Amazon DNS instead of your current DNS, which is typically provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). The Amazon DNS will work the same as your device's current DNS, except when you see an ad from Amazon. In those cases, the Amazon DNS will provide a different, Amazon-owned IP address that allows us to confirm you saw an ad from Amazon, and where and when you saw it, for example the app or website where you viewed the ad and the time of day you viewed it. The Amazon Shopper Panel will only use the app permissions to confirm the ads from Amazon that you see. The Amazon Shopper Panel does not receive or share any personal information with third-parties.
When you toggle ON ad verification, you must allow "permission to track" via the iOS prompt for the Amazon Shopper Panel app to enable ad verification. You will then receive a prompt to allow notifications, which are also required to enable ad verification. The Amazon Shopper Panel app will then guide you through updating your device settings to use an Amazon DNS instead of your current DNS. Once you update your device settings, the ad verification status on the ad verification tab will show as ON. You can toggle ad verification OFF at any time from within the app.
When you toggle ON ad verification, you will receive a standard Android device prompt to allow the Amazon Shopper Panel to setup a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. The Amazon Shopper Panel will not install a VPN on your device but does use VPN device permissions to setup an Amazon DNS, which enables Amazon to collect and use information about the ads you see from Amazon. The Amazon Shopper Panel app will then guide you through updating your device settings to use an Amazon DNS instead of your current DNS. You can only turn ON ad verification if your "Private DNS" setting is "Automatic". Once you update your device settings, the ad verification status on the ads tab will show as ON. You will also see a VPN key badge on the status bar while ad verification is enabled. You can toggle ad verification OFF at any time from within the app.
No, the Amazon Shopper Panel will not install a VPN on your device. On Android, the Amazon Shopper Panel app uses VPN device permissions to setup an Amazon DNS, which makes it easy for panelists to opt out of ad verification if they choose to. When enabling ad verification on Android you will see a "VPN connection request" to activate those permissions. Because we are using these VPN permissions, you will also see a VPN key badge on the status bar while ad verification is enabled. You cannot participate in ad verification while connected to a VPN.
No, you cannot participate in ad verification if you have a third party VPN enabled.
If you believe that ad verification may be disrupting your internet connection, disable ad verification by toggling it off from within the app. We recommend checking that your "Private DNS" setting is "Automatic". If you’re still experiencing the issue after you re-enable ad verification, you can get more help by selecting "Contact us" within the "More" tab's menu to contact a Customer Support representative.
Ad verification can only be enabled when your "Private DNS" setting is "Automatic". Turning your "Private DNS" setting to "Off" or manually entering a hostname of a DNS provider while ad verification is enabled will cause your device to lose internet access.
Yes. If you opt-out of interest based ads you will still see ads from Amazon, but they will not be based on your interests. You can choose to enable verification of non-interest based ads you see from Amazon.
Notifications need to be enabled on iOS to participate in ad verification. Notifications do not need to be enabled on Android.
If you turn off ad verification for more than a cumulative 48 hours within a month, you will no longer qualify to receive more, relevant surveys based on the ads you see from Amazon.
You may withdraw consent and delete your personal information that is associated with the Amazon Shopper Panel including receipts, survey responses, ad verification information, details you provide about yourself, and your rewards history by selecting "Delete your data and opt out” within the "More" tab's menu. If you proceed with that request, you will be removed from the Amazon Shopper Panel. You will still be able to redeem rewards earned in previous months, but you will be ineligible to receive any rewards earned during the current month. If you decide you would like to rejoin the Amazon Shopper Panel, you may be added to the waitlist as availability is limited. If you have been added to the waiting list, we will notify you if a spot opens up.
All participation in the Amazon Shopper Panel is voluntary. You can easily disable ad verification at any time by toggling OFF within the Ad verification settings, located in the More tab. Once you disable ad verification, the status will show as OFF and your device will automatically resume using its default DNS settings. On Android, after disabling ad verification you will also need to turn off "Always-on VPN" or you will continue seeing a VPN key badge with the message "Disconnected from always-on VPN". To turn off "Always-on VPN" on Android:
Panelists invited to participate in the Offers (beta) program may earn additional rewards for redeeming offers by uploading images of eligible physical receipts containing their available offer’s featured brand or product category. Offers and Receipts are two separate programs within the Amazon Shopper Panel. Space is limited to participate in the Offers program. Visit the Offers tab to see if you have an offer available. Reward amounts for offers may vary. Redeem an offer by uploading images of eligible physical receipts containing the offer's featured brand and/or product category before the offer expires.
Redeem an offer by uploading images of eligible physical receipts containing the offer's featured brand and/or product category before the offer expires. Most receipts for purchases made within the past 30 days are eligible, including those from retailers (such as grocery stores, drug stores, and department stores) and entertainment outlets (such as restaurants, movie theaters, and theme parks). Receipts from Amazon.com and other Amazon stores including Whole Foods Market and Amazon Go are not eligible, including for offers. Handwritten receipts, non-English language receipts, receipts from outside the U.S., or duplicate receipts (including receipts previously submitted by another panelist) are also not eligible and should not be submitted. Receipts must contain clear text and not be blurry, faded, or otherwise unreadable. Receipts must contain a retailer or store name, purchase date, total purchase amount, and at least one itemized line item including an item code or description and item price. A “Not eligible” label will appear in the recent receipts list for any receipts that Amazon can determine to be ineligible. Typically, receipts are reviewed for eligibility within 6 hours. To see why a receipt was not eligible, tap on a receipt to view the status message. For more about what information Amazon collects through the Amazon Shopper Panel, go here.
You can use the Amazon Shopper Panel app to take or upload pictures of paper receipts.
Reward amounts, availability, and number of offers panelists receive may vary each month. For example, one month panelists may be able to earn $1 for uploading a receipt for a cereal brand purchase or $3 for receipt for an electronics brand purchase. Availability and number of offers panelists receive is subject to change monthly.
No, you may upload each receipt only once.
The Amazon Shopper Panel issues rewards to panelists once per month. You'll receive your reward within the first 48 hours of the following month. For example, you will receive any rewards earned in January by February 2nd. You will also receive an email from Amazon confirming the details of any reward you earned for the prior month.
Tap the Offers tab to view your approved offers and rewards earned in the current month at the top of your screen or by tapping Redeemed. Visit the Rewards tab, then tap "See all rewards" to view rewards from offers from previous months.
If you believe a receipt was incorrectly marked not eligible because it does contain the offer’s featured brand or product category, you can request a review. To request a review, go to the receipt marked not eligible and tap the “Request review” option listed above the receipt image.
Yes, your receipt is still eligible to earn a reward from an offer if it meets the terms of the offer, even if you received a third-party coupon, rebate, or other offer with your purchase.
Amazon only receives information that panelists explicitly choose to share via the Shopper Panel, such as the information extracted from uploaded receipts (including product or retailer names), survey responses, or ads seen from Amazon’s own advertising or third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads. We will use any information you share with us through the program to help brands offer better products and make Amazon ads more relevant and otherwise in accordance with Amazon's Privacy Notice. These purposes may include:
The Amazon Shopper Panel is designed to get faster and more accurate at reviewing receipts over time. The program relies in part on supervised machine learning, an industry-standard practice where humans review a small sample of submissions to help train our systems to correctly review receipt contents and eligibility. For example, a human reviewing a receipt can surface that the Amazon Shopper Panel misinterpreted a receipt for orange juice as a receipt for oranges. During our supervised learning process, Amazon reviewers only have access to the contents of receipts and do not have access to any other customer information. We will not share any personal information collected via the Amazon Shopper Panel with third parties.
Extracted receipt data, survey responses, and receipt images are retained for up to 13 months. You can view your receipt images for at least 12 months. We keep other information, such as your rewards history, to enable your continued use of the Amazon Shopper Panel for as long as you are using the app.
